Quality & Standards

RehabCare offers a high standard of services with a commitment to quality. Our quality and standards team support staff in achieving the delivery of high quality person-centred services by providing guidance, support, training and monitoring in a number of key areas:

Training

RehabCare recognises the central role of training and development in supporting and developing good practice, and in delivering safe and effective services. Staff undertake a number of accredited and non-accredited training and development opportunities across all areas of RehabCare. All our training is delivered by highly experienced trainers with full tutor qualifications. Some of the training offered includes: Manual and People Handling, QQI level 5 Occupational First Aid, Cardiac First Responder, CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, EHOA Primary Course in Food Safety, QQI level 5 Care Skills,
Mental Health First Aid, and many others.

Mental Health

RehabCare provide facilitation courses to service users and staff that provide a substantial and valuable grounding in modern contemporary thinking about mental health, recovery, and service delivery.

A growing cohort of RehabCare employees, combined with people who access our services as well as stakeholders and contributors, are working with the training department, to deliver a cutting edge training programme on how RehabCare can work effectively within the mental health sector. This training combines recovery, WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Planning), person-centred approaches, mental health, First Aid and ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) in a truly dynamic training package.

Expert Supports

In RehabCare we recognise that individuals accessing our services can sometimes need specialised behavioural intervention. Difficulties communicating everyday needs and coping with different situations can lead to challenging situations for both the person in our care and the staff supporting them. RehabCare’s Behaviours that Challenge policy has adopted the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) model. PBS has its foundations in person-centredness, applied behaviour analysis and the inclusion movement.

RehabCare's behaviour therapists support services around the country. Under the clinical supervision of our Principal Clinical Psychologist, the behaviour therapists are responsible for training staff in supporting individuals whose behaviour may present as a challenge from time to time. They are also repsonsible for carrying out assessments with these individuals and designing interventions that have their foundations in the empowerment of the individual and promoting the teaching of adaptive skills.
