A brilliant open day was had in RehabCare’s Resource Centre and Autism Services in Whitemills Industrial Estate in Clonard on Wednesday, 29th June. Irish Country Meats Supports RehabCare Wexford Employment Scheme

Irish Country Meats has partnered with RehabCare Wexford to support a new initiative which helps people with physical, sensory and intellectual disabilities actively seek and gain employment. The scheme aims to support individuals to increase their independence and confidence so that they can have a better quality of life. Funding from Irish Country Meats will facilitate FETAC-accredited training in areas such as Workplace Safety which helps to make service users more employable in mainstream businesses. read more ... -
121 Fitness Provides Fabulous Fundraiser for RehabCare

The Care Trust Presents Cheque to Rehab

The RehabCare Navan / 1-2-1 Fitness Beat the Bulge 6k Run/Walk takes place on Saturday, 1st August with the help of Darrel Smith of 1-2-1 Fitness, Mullaghboy Industrial Estate. The event is organised by Darrel as the climax of the Beat the Bulge programme that he has been running over the past eight weeks. The run / walk takes place at 10am with registration from 9am at 1-2-1 Fitness. All are encouraged to come along and run, walk or crawl the route and enjoy the morning. There were lively performances by staff and people who use the services in RehabCare. Money raised from RehabCare 5k Run put to great use

A total €6,500 was raised at the successful Fitzer's 5k run, which took place in February and was organised by Peter Fitzpatrick TD with support from RehabCare in Dundalk. The money raised from the run was used to buy 12 iPads for people who use the services at RehabCare’s resource centres in Carroll Village and in Quayside. The new iPads will enable those with disabilities to enhance their literacy, numeracy and IT skills by giving them the opportunity to use a variety of educational apps. read more ... -

RehabCare Stars on the Big Screen

On Wednesday last the IMC Cinema Dundalk hosted a film premiere with a difference with the first screening of The Dream Machine, a feature film by 50 actors with disabilities. The Encore Productions group, who all attend RehabCare resource centre in Carroll Village, Dundalk, spent 10 months working on the film, writing the script, designing costumes and props as well as honing their acting skills. A new development by RehabCare and Newgrove Housing Association which provides services for 20 people with autism and intellectual disabilities was officially opened today by Minister for Public and Commuter Transport, Alan Kelly TD. The purpose-built facilities for young adults with autism, intellectual disabilities and mental health difficulties in Stradavoher on the outskirts of Thurles town include a day service, a high support residential service with 24 hour support from staff, a house offering supported accommodation and a self-contained annex to provide independent living. read more ... -
