Billy and Jenny meet The Wanted VIP style!

19/12/2013 Billy and Jenny meet The Wanted VIP style!

Christmas came early for The Wanted fans Billy Nsabimana and Jenny Peacock who not only got to meet the popband at their album signing but also got the VIP treatment! The excited pair were treated like stars by HMV Dundrum, who took their support needs into consideration and made the occasion accessible, memorable and comfortable.

What started out as an idea by staff member Sarah Boyd, turned into a dream come through for Billy and Jenny, both of whom have significant disabilities and attend Lean Ar Aghaidh day service run by RehabCare in Bray. Staff support those who attend this service to live meaningful fun-filled lives and are always on the lookout for new experiences and opportunities for them. Music is a big thing for everyone in the service and Billy, the self-titled King of Music, knows the lyrics to most songs! When Sarah heard that The Wanted would be signing albums she contacted HMV in Dundrum who were more than happy to help and arranged the visit.

Sarah said, “When we arrived at the signing, we were led by security to the VIP area to meet the band. HMV looked after us all so well and made us feel so welcome.  Billy and Jenny enjoyed looking down at all the screaming fans from the VIP area! It was a dream come true and a highlight of the year for both to meet The Wanted. It was an experience we will never forget. Billy hopes  to see them in concert next year for his 21st birthday with support from RehabCare.”

Billy also wrote a poem with Sarah about his experience:

‘On the 19th November,
A day I’ll always remember.
It was only a 20 minute drive
To see my music come alive.
I got a wristband for my hand
Ready to meet my favourite band!
Thank you Dundrum HMV,
Without you this couldn’t be.
I bought their new C.D,
They signed it just from me!
For that moment:
It was just ‘The Wanted’ and me!’
