Karen’s College Success

16/10/2013 Karen’s College Success

Well done to Karen Flanagan from RehabCare in Nenagh who recently graduated from LIT Thurles having successfully completed a Certificate in Leadership and Advocacy. This is the first course to be run in Thurles by Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT). Karen was one of 20 students who studied for the Certificate which began in January 2013. Classes covered areas such as teamwork, communication skills, agents of change, human rights, standard awareness, programmes and campaigns.

Karen said "I gained new expereinces of meeting new people and going to college and my self confidence to do further courses and training in the future. I would like to thank my teacher Martina Neylon. I enjoyed my graduation day at college where I received my certificate and Lar Corbett (Tipperary Senior Hurler) was guest speaker at the graduation. I would like to thank all the staff in Community House, the drivers from Rehab, my keywoker Mary O'Carroll and my family for all their support. I would recommend this course to other service users."
