The annual Rehab Meath Coast 10k Run/Walk takes place on Saturday 29th June with the help of Meath Olympian Natalya Coyle. The event, which is organised in association with St Colmcille GAA Club, Bettystown and Meath Sports Partnership, will take place at 11am and the excitement about the event is building up throughout the coastal villages. The route of the 10k will begin at St Colmcilles GAA Club, Piltown Rd, Bettystown and will take in the beautiful scenery of the Meath Gold Coast with its dramatic back drop of the Mourne Mountains.

Natalya Coyle who competed in the Modern Pentathlon at 2012 Olympic Games in London is supporting the 10km event. She said, “I am delighted to be involved with an event which highlights the beauty of his local area and raised money for such a worthy cause. I want to wish everyone the best of luck with the 10K.”
Every year across Ireland, Rehab supports some 8,000 children and adults with physical, sensory and intellectual disabilities, people with mental health difficulties, people with autism and people with an acquired brain injury. Rehab enables them to realise their dreams, learn skills, access job opportunities and strive towards living more independent lives.

In County Meath, over 220 people access the services provided by the RehabCare which includes a resource centres, residential accommodation services and The Meadows Children’s Respite Service, a residential respite service used by over 70 children in the county this year
Kieran O’Sullivan, Community Service Manager, RehabCare in Navan says, “Funds raised from the registration fee for the 10K event will go directly towards enhance RehabCare’s local services in Meath for people with disabilities. We want to bring supports as close to people’s own homes as possible and we also want to support them to actively engage in their local communities. We would like to thank all of the local business and community groups, especially St Colmcille’s GAA Club for their support for this annual fundraising event. Everyone who takes part is guaranteed to have a great time at the Meath Coast 10k Walk /Run and you’ll be supporting a very good local cause. So, come on everybody and join in the excitement!”

Online entry is €20, registration is also available on the day between 9.30am and 10.30am at St Colmcille’s, Piltown Rd. A Family Fun Day event will follow the 10k Walk/Run in the grounds of St Colmcille’s GAA Club with events including a BBQ , homemade cakes, music, face painting, balloons and guaranteed fun for all the whole family.
