The staff support me with my cooking, shopping and meal planning.

I support the Kilkenny hurlers, the 'Super Cats’, in my spare time.

I love gardening and I’m doing a FETAC (now QQI) level 4 horticulture course.

My name is Michael and I attend the RehabCare day service in Kilkenny and live in RehabCare's supported accommodation apartments. I began attending here in 2007. I come to the centre five days per week.

I participate in many different programmes including drama, cooking, reception training, independent living skills, community access and gardening. I love gardening and I’m doing a FETAC (now QQI) level 4 horticulture course.

Luckily for me, in January 2012, I was successful in my application to move into the supported accommodation apartments  in  Kilkenny. Here, the staff support me with my cooking, shopping and meal planning.  My apartment is in the centre of the city and it takes me no more than a minute to go to my day service every day.

I love to cook, especially stew, and I am learning different recipes every day. I get on great with my flatmates. We have good craic together. We watch the sport together or we go to see Kilkenny the 'Super Cats’ play in Nolan Park.

I also like to go fishing, watch soccer on TV.
